I tested it and for me its replacing the image.
Do you use a card as an image which was made with my card creator?

If not there could be a bug (which is fixed in my development version but not in the current release) which overwrites the card with a black box.
Thats because there is an algorithm which repaints the cards text area and old cards follow a slightly other color scheme which confuses the algorithm.
Shinjuchi had that bug too and fixed it for the upcoming version.
if that is the case try to make a card with the card creator, they should work and/or be patient for the new version

Well.... would you look at that! Same images as I had tried before now magically work after going through the card creator car wash!

I'm still interested in learning the CTI2 Code. Looked over java and it is something I could understand.
Don't have much time right now to devote to it but hope one day I can PM you about it.
